Jack hammer from working on the road in front of hotel. However I did have a inside room and did not hear a thing.

The service was excellent, decor was attractive, location convenient to BART and price was reasonable.
It's a city building and the view was of another building.

Location in the heart of Union Square - surrounded by shops and right on the Cable Car line. A minute's walk to the bart station. Hotel was clean, room was small but the king bed was comfortable. Water pressure was amazing! The Hotel's cafe/wine bar was a nice place to hang out after walking all day exploring the city.
It's an older building so wear shows through some of renovations. Free internet not fast enough to get real work done so be prepared to pay the extra $8/Day for a high speed connection.
